Professor Maria Leptin, one of the role models of Path2Integrity, is going to be the next President of the European Research Council (ERC)! After one year search for a person to fill the position, the ERC gave the honour to Prof. Leptin. She will start her duty in October 2021.

Prof. Maria Leptin is an internationally recognised developmental biologist and immunologist who was selected as Director of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) in 2010. She advocates for the responsible conduct of research, being one of the core members of the Path2Integrity community. Prof. Leptin has also chaired one of the ERC Life Science grant review panels for a number of years. This depth of knowledge and experience in fundamental research and scientific management will serve her well, as she undertakes this critical role in the European R&I ecosystem.
