Campaign materials #MyPath2Integrity
As young members of our society, it is essential that secondary school students learn how research results must be produced to be reliable and thus useful for society. As well, students learn how they can personally contribute towards establishing a culture of research integrity: Honest citizens demand reliable research results.
The materials below have been developed especially for this group to become familiar with essential topics for conducting good scientific practice: Respecting authorship, proper citing, using quality sources of information, following the steps of the research process and expressing concepts correctly. A complementary booklet for supporting teachers’ role and a tryptic about Fake News is also in place for download.
University students, as potential researchers and citizens alike, need to learn how responsible research should be conducted to be reliable and thus useful for society. For this purpose, specific materials have been developed for understanding the importance of research integrity, for doing and contributing high-quality research. Also advice from outstanding researchers, and a tryptic about Fake News have been included as well.
Researchers, as professionals, have the duty of performing their task with the utmost quality and honesty. They need to know how responsible research must necessarily be conducted to be reliable and, in this sense, useful for society.
The materials developed address key topics for this group, such as the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity (ECoC), and how to best address the challenges which may arise during their daily practice. They include a booklet about Research Integrity, several posters and short interviews with reputable research colleagues and thematic overviews.
Research is not an area separated from society but is an integral part of it. Therefore, individual researchers are as responsible for following good scientific practice as is the entire research infrastructure: research funding organisations, research performing organisations, and higher education organisations and scientific publishers.
The materials developed are intended to help organisations to understand and implement Research Integrity. They include a booklet, several posters and short interviews with outstanding researchers.
